Why on earth do we crib about India not producing a stronger bench strength?

I know, I know!

It’s barren pitches, spinning tracks and pro-batting paradises everywhere in the subcontinent, but If these very conditions are put forth in front of the Aussies touring India in February this year, there should be no reason to complain.

Additionally, If this very bench strength if not already, is almost representing the country; why still persist with the under-performers in the team?

Isn’t selection criteria more about performance than perception?

If all the above postulates are true, Why do we keep benching India’s bench strength is a question only Sandeep Patil and his wise men in the selection committee can answer.
